Teaching

Teaching of North American Studies at the University of Bayreuth aims to encourage students’ enthusiasm for the subject by allowing them to learn relevant methods, approaches, and theories in an active research environment. Contributing to current scholarly discussions about culture with own ideas lies at the heart of the departmental teaching philosophy. Thus, the close relation between research projects and teaching is a central element of our course of studies, enabling our students to apply their critical skills and knowledge in a variety of fields like education, economy, politics or other areas of (inter)cultural life.
